First time for everything

• APPARITION ... Harry's first apparation occurred in the summer before his sixth year at Hogwarts. He apparated with Dumbledore, using what is known as "Side-Along Apparition" for underage wizards.
• BROOM FLIGHT ... Harry first flew a broom during his first flying class. He chased after Draco Malfoy who had taken something of Neville Longbottom's. When McGonagall saw Harry fly, she immediately put him on the Quidditch team.
• DATE ... Yule Ball with Parvati Patil.
• DETENTION ... Harry had his first detention in his first year of Hogwarts. It was served in the Forbidden Forest with Hermione, Neville and Draco.
• KISS ... Cho Chang, under the mistletoe, in his fifth year of school.
• NON-FORCED DATE ... Cho Chang, on Valentine's in his fith year. They went to Hogsmeade and spent some time at Madam Puddifoot's cafe.
• OWL LETTER ... Like many others who lived with muggles, Harry's first owl letter came before his eleventh birthday, informing him of his acceptance to Hogwarts.
• PET ... Hedwig, a snowy owl, is Harry's one and only pet.
• TRUE FRIENDSHIP ... Hagrid was the first person to show true concern for Harry after eleven years with the Dursley's. Although others had tried to befriend Harry before (at school) Hagrid was the first person to not let the Dursley's stop him from being Harry's friend.
• USE OF PARSELTOUNGE ... On Dudley's birthday, at the zoo. Harry talked to a snake without even realizing exactly what he was doing.
